The Pre-Holiday Retail Risk Report
In 2015, retailers are expected to hire 775,000 workers to deal with the holiday shopping demand. As retailers focus on customers and sales, information security often gets pushed to the backburner. An Osterman Research study of large retailers commissioned by Bay Dynamics, reveals that:
- 37% of the respondents were unable to identify which systems their temporary employees have accessed
- 21% of permanent retail floor workers and 61% of temporary retail floor workers do not have unique login credentials for corporate systems
- More than a quarter of the respondents are unable to tell if their temporary employees have leaked sensitive data
Ironically, the survey also reveals that IT and security teams think they are doing a great job when it comes to protecting their valuable data. Download the “Pre-Holiday Retail Risk Report” to learn more about the findings from the survey, including security loopholes that retailers unwittingly overlook.
